ExxonMobil confirms announcing force major on Sakhalin-1

WASHINGTON, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- ExxonMobil confirmed on Thursday that it had announced a force major on Russia's Sakhalin-1, a representative told PRIME.

"Exxon Neftegas Ltd. has announced a force major on the Sakhalin-1 project," the official said.

The company has been unable to fulfill the contract liabilities in time or at all and to continue works in accordance with the global sea and oil industry standards due to the 'recent events'. As a result, the company reduced output, the official said, adding that ExxonMobil keeps plans to quit the project.
